DO NOT BUY FROM GLOBAT HOSTING!! Here is a condensed version of what I call the Globat Ripoff Saga. It all began on Nov. 24, 2002 when I purchased a year of webhosting from Globat for $349.35. Three days later it became apparent that Globat could not satisfy my hosting needs, so I cancelled via trouble ticket and the following email:
I'm afraid then that Globat
cannot meet my needs. I have found
another host that can.
Therfore I want to cancel this account with
Globat and excerise my
option for rerfund.
Below is the actual saga of my failed attempt to get that refund. As of today, July 10, 2007, I have given up. Globat is a scam, ripoff, and cheat. I never did receive refund, and never received the service. I was ripped of for about $350 which Globat kept while I kept getting excuses lies and promises never kept from them for about two years.

| Thur, 08 May 2003
Sent to: cancellation form and to: trouble ticket form also to: online support which did not respond, so I sent an email. |
On 11/27/02, just 3 days after opening this account, I sent cancellation request and received confirmation of this request from the help desk on the same day.On 12/04/02, I spoke to Jack from Globat (via telephone) to report that Globat had still not credited my Visa Card with a refund. I also called a few months later to report that you had still not given the refund. To this day, I have STILL NOT RECEIVED the refund. Yet I have had to pay interest on this amount. I have never used the Globat service for this account since 11/27/02, since Globat was unable to meet my needs for this domain. Have someone with authority respond to me ASAP. I have been more than patient in waiting for Globat to honor their promise. My next step will, unfortunately, have to be having my credit card company chargeback this and do an investigation. Please take care of this matter now, as it has dragged on for almost 6 months now. Victim, 000-000-0000 |

| Thu, Jul 10 2003 20:11:53 GMT | Received acknowledgment and trouble ticket (#16091 above). As of 8/05/03, have still received no response. |
| Tue, Aug 05 2003 15:53 PDT | Called Patrick's number (323-874-1148), but talked to operator instead. She put me on hold for 3 minutes. Charlie Vega answered, I told him of my conversation with Patrick and that I had still received no refund, was put on hold again. He told me to forward him all the emails I have received from Globat concerning this matter, he would look at them, and call me first thing tomorrow morning. I forwarded the emails, plus a copy of this 'saga' at 16:55 today. |
| Wed, Aug 20 2003 15:13 | After over 2 weeks with no word from anyone from Globat, I called today. Talked to woman (Yvonne ext 238) who told me that Globat NEVER cancelled my account, and that I had to use their special online cancellation form to cancel. Tried, but it crashed my computer. Finally got form submitted after using 3 different browsers. |
| Wed, Aug 20 2003 15:42 | Called, but (ext 238) unavailable, so talked with Malcom (to whom I gave a brief outline of this continuing saga), who connected me with Yvonne, who took my name, cancellation ID, and told me they would process the refund and call me back. |
| Wed, 20 Aug 2003 15:48 | Received email confirmation of cancellation request. As a customer who has been with us for more than fifteen days, unfortunately you are not entitled to a refund. . . |
| Mon, 22 Sep 2003 15:20 | Called, 15:20, (Marshall, who transferred me to Mike). Per Mike's request, I forwarded him the email (Nov 27, 2002) in which I first attempted to cancel the account. I also forwarded him 4 subsequent related emails, including two which refer to my attempt to simultaneously cancel the account via "trouble ticket." Mike (Mreno@globat.com) said he would call me back. |
| Thu, 02 Oct 2003 16:12 | Called, 16:12. . . was transferred to Mike, who told me that he was working on this problem and that I would get the refund as soon as they could confirm that there had never been issued a refund. Mike said they had to meet with bookeeping dept., and if I don't hear from him next Tuesday that I should call him Wednesday morning. Mike said that the email that I sent him were very helpful. Mike seemed very concerned, helpful, and determined that this situation get 'cleaned up.' Call ended 16:18. |

| Thu, 16 Oct 2003 14:12 | Tried unsuccessfully to call; kept getting busy signal. 14:22: Got the general delivery mailbox recording again, left message to Mike Reno. Called back and pressed option 3, person answered and tried to transfer me to Mike, who was at lunch. He took my number, and said he would give message to Mike to call me back after lunch. |
| Fri, 17 Oct 2003 16:37 | pressed option 3, person answered and transferred me to Mike Reno. Mike admitted he forgot, and was due for another meeting in about half hour. He would bring it up in the meeting and leave me a message on my cell in about 45 minutes (I told him I would be at work). I received no return call or message from him. |
| Tue, 28 Oct 2003 15:52 | pressed option 3, on hold - no one available, left message on Malcom's recorder. |
| Wed, 29 Oct 2003 15:41 | pressed option 3, on hold - no one available, received Malcom Hayes' (sales) recorder. He never retruned yesterday's message yet, so no need to leave another message. I hung up. |
| Wed, 29 Oct 2003 15:46 | I called main number 323-874-9000, and Mike Reno answered. I held while he talked with Patrick, who thought that they had already issued credit refund. I told him of Patrick's conversation with me on June 05. Mike said he would go back and talk to Patrick again and for me to call him again tomorrow about same time. |
| Thu, 30 Oct 2003 15:44 | I called main number 323-874-9000, and Mike answered. He said check is in mail, but they kept $50 non-refundable setup fee. If not received in about a week, I should contact them again. |
| Fri, 05 Dec 2003 15:29 | Person who answered took my phone number, and subject (check not received yet). He said he would see that Mike Reno gets the message as soon as he gets in. NEVER RETURNED CALL. |

| Wed. 10 Dec 2003 11:02 | Receptionist put me on hold after taking my name and domain name, when I asked to speak to Mike Reno. She could not reach him, but said she would leave him another message, saying that I have been trying to reach him and it is urgent. |
| Fri. 12 Dec 2003 12:10 | Mike R. out to lunch. Receptionist took message and number . . . AGAIN!! She said she would tell him to return my call. |
| Thu. 18 Dec 2003 11:51 | Receptionist connected me to billing department (no ans). Receptionist took message and number . . . AGAIN!! She said she would make sure somebody calls me today. Nobody called. |
| Fri. 19 Dec 2003 11:25 | I told receptionist that
I had been trying to get a refund since 3 days after I cancelled the account
over a year ago, and that I had been told at least 2 times that "The check
is in the mail." I told her of my last conversation with Mike Reno,
and that I had called 4 times last week and twice this week, and have not
heard a word from anyone. She said lines were busy and offered to
take a message, but I told her that I had left many messages to no avail,
and that I would just hold.
Transferred to accounting (Christine (a)?). As I started to talk, they also put me on hold at 11:32. 11:35 billing returned, and I briefly told my story, mentioning that both Patrick and Mike had told me the refund was being sent. She told me that the issue was out of their hands, that I would need to pursue this through my bank. She again took my phone number and said she would give message to Mike Reno (her boss). I said that if I heard nothing from him, that I would call my bank on Monday, and if too much time had elapsed for the bank to act, that I would start publishing details of this saga. |
| Mon. 25 Oct 2004 14:13 | I received phone message to call Randall Taylor (877-245-6228 ext 253) to call him and he would let me know what is going on with my account. He said he would also send me an email. I called him, and he said he would tell billing to make sure and not try to rebill me. |
As of today, July 10, 2007, I have given
up. Globat is a scam, ripoff, and cheat. I never did receive
refund, and never received the service. I was ripped of for about
$350 which Globat kept while I kept getting excuses lies and promises never
kept from them for about two years.
