Scambuster:
If the National Collector's
Mint infomercial has you believing that they will sell you a $50 Buffalo
coin for a fraction of the value of the price of an ounce of gold, you
should definitely read this. The $50 Gold Buffalo, which is minted
by the U.S. government contains an ounce of gold and will sell for over
a thousand dollars, depending on the current gold market price. The
coin that NCM advertised in their infomercial is a "tribute" coin, which
is a euphemism for a replica or fake. It is a "gold clad" coin, which
means that it is another metal covered with a layer of gold. Make
sure you know what you are buying!
